Microprocessor Projects

(EECS 347-1 and EECS 347-2)

This page is not yet finished, but will be coming soon, and to give you a taste of what is to come...

This course fulfills the senior design requirement for Northwestern engineers, although it is actually a two-course sequence. The first course is coming up with an idea and designing a solution. The second course is actually implementing the design and dealing with the issues that arise.

I worked in a team of five with two electrical engineers and two computer engineers. We designed and built a wireless quizbowl device. Our design had the following features that make it superior to the typical quizbowl system:

  • Wireless
  • LCD to read the questions
  • USB connectivity and built-in memory to load and store new questions
  • PC software to create and load new and existing question packs
